Sommerfrischler sch\u00e4tzten die Waldwege, die gesunde Luft und die Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeiten, wie beispielsweise die Burg Forchtenstein oder die Ruine Landsee. Der Erste Weltkrieg beendete j\u00e4h den Ausflugstourismus, da die Versorgung der G\u00e4ste mit Lebensmitteln nicht zugesichert werden konnte. Heuer wollen auch viele Wiener sich hier niederlassen. \u2013 Der hiesige Pfarrer Benediktus Mayer, an den die Gattin eines Wiener B\u00fcrgerschuldirektors sich mit der Bitte wandte ein Zimmer und Kost zu besorgen, schlug ihr dies mit folgendem Vers ab:<br \/>\nZimmer sind genug, da keine Not,<br \/>\ndoch wohl an Betten, Schmalz und Brot.<br \/>\nErnst gemeint und ohne Lug!<br \/>\nAuch das Mehl ist hier sehr klug.<br \/>\nWeiber klagen schon seit Wochen,<br \/>\ndass kein Mehl zum Kn\u00f6delkochen.<br \/>\nNiemand will daher von Kost was wissen,<br \/>\ndenn sehr selten sind hier Bissen.<br \/>\nKommen Sie, wenn Krieg vor\u00fcber,<br \/>\nAllen uns ist es lieber.<br \/>\n\u00dcberallgut, daheim ist\u00b4s doch am besten,<br \/>\nim Krieg reist man nicht nach Ost, auch nicht nach Westen.<br \/>\nLebensmittel auch hier sehr teuer,<br \/>\nherzlichst gr\u00fcsst Sie Benedikt Mayer.\u201c<br \/>\n(Grenzpost vom 13.
